Croatia is one of those places you should aim to visit at least once in your lifetime. I was there recently and I was mesmerized at what I would have missed out on if I did not embark on a journey to this plush Eastern European country. Croatia has certainly left an indelible mark on my life. It was not one of those things in my bucket list but my friend urged me to visit Croatia with him for summer holidays. I was thrilled about the idea since I love travelling and I rarely travel to an Eastern European country, despite making a number of trips to Europe. If I was to describe Croatia in a sentence it would be: Full of life with nature at its finest. I would describe my trip to Croatia as a luxury trip by virtue of the experiences we had from the first day we landed.
The Croats are very friendly and warm, the people we met in Zagreb were helpful and even the language barrier sometimes did not deter us from enjoying ourselves on the streets. The hotel we stayed in had helpful multilingual staff who took care of our needs and made us feel welcome for a single night before we rented a luxury villa in Croatia.
My luxury trip through Croatia exposed me to a variety of tourist attractions. Since it was the summer, I was interested in visiting the beach, I wanted to go to a couple of beaches to sample the nature and leisure. I visited several beautiful beaches, I visited the sandy beach of Sakarun located on the Dugi Otok Island which is regarded as one of the most scenic locations in the world. When we did not want to go far from the city, we had a wonderful time at the Banje beach in Dubrovnik and the Brela pebble beach. There is a clear distinction in those beaches as the water soothes and the environment is therapeutic.
When it comes to nature, we visited several locations in the country. The Medvednica Mountain was one such attraction. We decided to go for an excursion trip and that was the perfect location. The beauty of the surrounding forest dense forest comprising of oak, beech and chestnut trees. There are numerous nature trails around there. There are caves and ravines where a photo opportunity is a must-have. The Plitvice lakes are a superb attraction. These are 16 small lakes which are joined by waterfalls. The nature here is mind-bending, the greenery of the trees and bushes are a delight. There are numerous waterfalls to admire.
There are a number of recreational activities you can do in Croatia. My friend and I went for diving. We looked for the best diving site and stumbled upon Baron Gautsch in Rovinj. We rented a vessel from a yacht charter in Croatia to get to this diving site. The Croatian underwater world has a variety of flora and fauna to be admired, get in touch with sea horses and a host of marine plant species which radiate beautifully with their colors.
Whenever my day was done we settled in a luxury villa. It was quite affordable and well-furnished with spacious rooms and plenty of ventilation. This was one of the epitomes of my luxury trip to Croatia. Some of my experiences were wild and fun as nightlife is quite vibrant. Croatia is a beautiful country where you have to visit to believe.
