When we woke up we were still suffering from our last 2 days of very rough terrain. We decided to get our back packs moved on to our next location and walk with day packs only in order to give our bodies a chance to recover.
Thankfully we had brought some ROC tape with us and had the user instruction App on our iPads so I was able to strap Lari’s knee. Thankfully she had instant relief from the strapping and was able to walk with only a slight limp initially then once warmed up she was almost back to full walking pace. Both of us benefited hugely from walking only 14.5km over reasonable terrain with only our day packs. Today's walk was decidedly pleasant compared to the previous two and thankfully all the comments about “it gets easier from here” were right.
We arrived at our destination right on midday feeling very invigorated and happy for what was almost a rest day. The property is a regular B&B with free range chickens scratching in the fields around the house and a couple of Bee Hives in the corner of the block. The owners sell both Free Range Eggs and Honey to supplement their income. The accommodation is superb with all mods cons. Our Hosts Craig & Teresa were very friendly and accommodating as they normally only provide breakfast but they agreed to cook us dinner as we were unable to supply our own. They have also agreed to transport our Big Packs to our next destination for us tomorrow.
Thankfully there was a break in the weather and I was able to get our tent up on their line and get it completely dry.
