A nice restaurant outside the front of the Vatican. It specialises in gluten-free pasta (which is what attracted me to it).
Meal
A custom request. Gluten free spaghetti with cheese, mushrooms and garlic. It was absolutely gorgeous! It was easily better than any pasta I've eaten in England. They even added extra garlic for me which I thought was a nice touch.
Cost of meal:
25 euro 20 cents
Wine and beverages
Rose - Ruffino. Medium-dry. Dark pink in colouring, but quite drinkable with a flowery flavour.
Still water, I had a choice of still or sparkling.
Atmosphere and decor
Formal decor with double tablecloths. Waiters wore formal clothing.
Flowers and greenery surrounded the outdoor area which gave the restaurant a peaceful feel.
Dress code
Smart-casual. Mainly tourists ate here.
Locality
Outside the front of the Vatican where people que.
Service
Helpful staff, they all spoke English very well. Staff went out of their way to help, very high quality service. I expected a much higher price than I actually paid due to the decor and level of service.
Other remarks
I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.
They offered to keep the rest of my wine chilled until I finished my Vatican tour.
There was a special English-tourist section on the back of the menu. I also saw a European family being offered a menu in their own language.
