Situated 200m form the Cathedral and 500m from Petit France with just about anything that counts in Strasbourg in between, makes this hotel the best place in my opinion. It is tucked away in a small street just off Place Gutenberg with a very modest entrance and foyer. The decor is very clean fresh with each floor displaying a different colour in its corridors; the large winding stair case supporting a small elevator is a joy to walk down but hard walking up especially if you are on the top fourth floor. Coming down you can glide the shallow wooden stairs enjoying the happy turquoise colour of the thick spindles and the beautiful mirrors on each landing.
The rooms are small, especially the ones in the attic but large enough for a couple staying a few days. In Strasbourg you won’t be staying too long in the room, as there is so much to see and do in the town. The rooms have air conditioning and are decorated in a plane contemporary style. The dormer window looking over the roof tops is very Parisian and creates a romantic feeling in spite of the modernity of the room. Almost the entire one side of the wall is covered with huge plasma TV that I never used, why would I when I'm in Strasbourg? Breakfast is in a small dining room on the ground floor behind the reception. The buffet is small but includes has delicious freshly made croissant and pain au chocolate and breads. The coffee is also perfect, so there is no need for anything else. The staff in reception are delightful, smiling as they speak English, German and French and full of helpful advice. They seem to earnestly wish you to enjoy your stay in their hotel and town. This is a well run and located hotel.
