I am a journalist by profession and a travel lover, planned a trip with my friends to Norway. The kind of experiences I came across are hard to describe in one go. However, I would try my best to pen down some of my most memorable experiences, which every travel enthusiast must not miss.
Here we go:
While, we all known that Norway is a beautiful country, I say it is remarkably simple, which make Norway overwhelmingly beautiful.
Lofoten Islands
Our first sighting was at Lofoten Islands. The razor-sharp peaks, clear, indigo sky welcomed us in a finely pleasant weather.
In the exhilarating air, I could feel a constant tang of freshness and harmony, which touched my soul over and over again. The islands can easily be captured by bus, car, bicycle or even by a walk.
The midnight sun
It was indeed a fantastic experience, which perhaps could be visualized anywhere North of Bodø in around mid of summer. We did not go to the North Cape to experience te midnight sun as the effect of it could be seen from south, as well by very short nights called ‘white nights’.
If you wish to experience the midnight sun, it would certainly add to your bonus in the trip like ours.
Vigelandsparken Sculpture Park
Choices may differ but I found this one of the most interesting places to explore in Norway. Exactly in Oslo, the sculpture park is a huge green lounge in the western town, where we encountered around 212 bronze & granite sculptures. The place became amazing when we had a bonfire party with some booze in the night.
Eating in Norway
Relishing a traditional Norwegian breakfast of the national flatbread along with Jarlsberg cheese, fruit jam, butter, was one of our favorites.
You may choose to have Norwegian ham or salami on lefse- it is amazing!
For a peaceful lunch in Norway, we indulged in slices of smoked salmon and savored it along with ‘blande’; an inexpensive drink made out of water and soured whey.
If you are a veggie lover- Eat vegetables in Norwegian-style
While you may have limited choices, do not miss to relish Norway-style potatoes, & fresh strawberries, which make a unique combination but taste tangy when relished with cream.
For a delicious dessert, we ordered a sweet milk dish, which was called ‘gomme’. It was the tastiest cake of my life, which was serve to us along with almond macaroon rings, the iron-shaped cookies.
Gambling in Norway
With so much to see and do in Norway, we could not resist ourselves to try our luck in some gambling in the beautiful country.
As we are aware of some of the best poker players Norway has produced including Annette Obrestad, who won a World Series of Poker bracelet, we planned to visit some of the top online casinos of Norway and experienced an irresistible world of casino, which compelled us to try our luck in slot games, video poker, blackjack, roulette and more.
If visiting Norway is on your mind, do not wait anymore and pack your bags to experience the most memorable time of your life.
